David Boyarski  (Photographer)
David Boyarski is a self-taught nature photographer who only got serious about photography when he retired in 2011.  His favorite subjects are hummingbirds and humpback whales, two subjects he is not likely to photograph together.  Dave's interest in hummingbirds began while he was still living in the foothills of Colorado, an area visited by four different species of hummingbirds.  Since moving to southern Nevada, that interest has expanded into providing support for hummingbird nesting and migration studies.

He and his wife frequently travel to Hawaii and Alaska to view humpback whales and to Ecuador to view hummingbirds.  They also enjoy traveling to other locations abundant with wildlife and in 2017 went on a 24-day safari to Zimbabwe, Botswana and South Africa during which he captured images of 139 species of birds and 53 animals.  His images can viewed on his Flickr page .
